About Darren Crannis
Welcome to my own personal blog.
I am Darren Crannis, I am 29, born and grew up (almost) in Swindon (Wiltshire).
Educated at The Ridgeway School, Wroughton, Swindon between 1992 and 1999. Read a Masters Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering at Loughborough University, Leicestershire in 1999-2004.
Finally moved back to Wroughton, Swindon in 2005 (my roots) with my beautiful wife Ceri, who leads a Design & Technology department at a secondary school in the local area.
I enjoy walking Rufus, our lovely miniature Dachshund, Trixie, our lovely little Dachywawa (cross between a Dashsund and a Chiwawa) and spending time with Ceri. I have a big interest in sports, mainly keeping some degree of fitness down the gym so I can compete in ToughGuy each year! I’m a keen “Body Attack” victim – Circuit training & Aerobics combined. I enjoy playing (Minety RFC, Falkner-Eggington Old-Boys RFC) and watching Rugby (come on Gloucester!) and socialising. Music interests include Funky House, Dance & Trance.
Starting my career as a Digital Communications Engineer for Motorola, I progressed into the customer service and support industry, took a leap into the IT industry looking after New Business Development, Sales and Marketing for a small SME before becoming a Sales Consultant for a UK & Worldwide outsource IT company based in Newbury which I currently enjoy today!
I have a real passion for business, especially helping small businesses to grow and reach their goals. Small businesses are the backbone of the UK and support 80% of our UK economy, we need to remember that even if our Government forgets from time to time.
